Description:
Japan's original LP Limited edition of 300 sets! Bayreuth's Ninth from the Swedish Radio Collection Furtwängler's most famous live performance, "The Ninth at Bayreuth", has been praised as "the greatest treasure of all mankind", This 2LP set includes the complete recording from the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation's collection! Two years have passed since the release of the SACD hybrid disc (KKC-6435/BISSA-9060) of Furtwängler's supreme masterpiece live performance "The Ninth at Bayreuth" on the BIS label at the end of 2021, as a great discovery of the century to mark the latter end of the 135th anniversary of Furtwängler's birth. This is a limited edition 2LP set, licensed from BIS label and pressed by Toyo Kasei in heavy vinyl. The program was broadcast live by Swedish Broadcasting Corporation on July 29, 1951, from the announcement in four languages (German, French, English, and Swedish, in that order) at the beginning to the entrance of the Maestro, his full-scale conducting, a rather long interval, and the final two and a half minutes of loud cheers and stormy applause (and the announcement of the end of the program). The entire night was recorded on a 2LP set without any cuts for 82 minutes and 45 seconds. The opening announcement was "Bayreuth Festival 1951.The Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation presents the opening concert of the Richard Wagner Festival (Bayreuth Festival) from the Bayreuth Festival Theatre via the German-Austrian Broadcasting Corporation, the British Broadcasting Corporation, the French Broadcasting Corporation and the Stockholm Broadcasting Corporation. The music is Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 conducted by Wilhelm Furtwängler", which suggests that this was indeed a live broadcast. The LP is a treasure of mankind, and the complete documentation of the live performance is a real treat. This LP was produced after careful inspection of the lacquer and test pressings, and has a different appeal from the CD and SACD versions. Limited edition of 300 sets. There are no plans to repress this CD in the future. This is due to the master tape owned by the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation. It is believed that this occurred when the relay broadcast was simultaneously recorded on tape by Swedish Broadcasting Corporation, and BIS used the sound as it was, without modification. (King International) Included in the recording.
