Born in Svedlovsk to a family of engineers, Vedernikov studied in the Urals before entering graduate school at the Moscow Conservatory in 1989, where he studied with Natalia Shakovskaya. In 2001, he became principal cellist of the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, where he remained for more than a decade, and after returning to China, he was a soloist with the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble. After returning to Japan, he was a soloist with the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, but after an illness, he sadly passed away on June 11, 2015.This 1993 album, which includes \"Russian Works of the 20th Century\" with Golibor, with whom he was then working as a duo, has never been released, and more than a year after Vedernikov's death, the decision was made to release this recording to his memory.
