In the 14th century, when the papacy was moved from Rome to Avignon in the south of France, and the reign of the monarchs was not peaceful, plagues and wars continued, Guillaume de Machaut was one of the geniuses who broke new ground in the accumulation of \"knowledge\" in the Christian world. He was more of a \"poet versed in the art of music\" than a composer, and his interpretation of verses is crucial to the approach to the category of ancient music. While weaving music at the forefront of Ars Nova, which brought a new innovation to polyphonic music of the time, he also left behind many rhymes in verse only, with no music attached, and his interpretation of these rhymes, while fully recognizing his literary achievements, has been performed in the French-speaking world in a wide range of fields from the Middle Ages to the present. Marc Moyon, a rare singer who has thoroughly pursued the expression of the \"voice,\" and Pierre Amon, a researcher and performer who has achieved unparalleled results in the study and practice of medieval music reproduction. The duo has produced three Machaut albums for the Eloquentia label, including Vivian Caruna Biffi, a medieval vielle player with uncommon skills, and Angelique Moillon, a medieval music singer and harp player of note, all of which have received international acclaim. All have received international acclaim. In addition to the feat of recording the entire length of the Lée (Narrative Song) without omission, the works that remain only in verse are recited with medieval instrumental accompaniment (Disc 2, track 2), and the album also features a recording of the entire Lée (Narrative Song) with a medieval instrumental accompaniment (Disc 3, track 4). This boxed set of three masterpieces is a must for those who want to know the essence of Machaut's art, and is a perfect project for those who want to delve deeply into the world of medieval music.
