Dave Okumu is the Mercury Prize-nominated frontman of The Invisibles. Known for his collaborations with Arlo Parks, Adele, Saint Vincent, and others, he releases his debut solo album on Transgressive. Dave Okumu, who has mainly worked behind the scenes, is releasing his debut solo album. One of the most respected and sought-after songwriters, producers, and musicians in the UK, Okumu has worked with Arlo Parks, Ed O'Brien (Radiohead), St Vincent, Tony Allen, Jessie Ware, Grace Jones David Lynch, and Adele. He is also the founder, vocalist, and guitarist of the Mercury Prize-nominated band The Invisible.The first full-length album, "Knopperz," to be released on Transgressive Records on September 24, 2021, is a completely instrumental album, blending hip-hop, jazz, and experimental electronic music. j It is both a tribute to Dilla's classic "Donuts" and inspired by and uses elements from friend and pianist Duval Timothy's album "Sen Am".
