The focus of classical music was on Paris-based Kaija Saariaho. She is one of the leading composers of Finnish music today. The new disc is a live recording of the opening concert of the festival. Finnish soprano Kalita Mattila solo and Anssi Kalttunen cello with the Eschenbach \u0026amp; Paris Orchestra. Notes on Light (A Memorandum on Light), commissioned by the Boston Symphony Orchestra for its 125th anniversary. 'Each instrument's unique sound has a different luminous intensity.'Cirriaho sought a \"light source\" in the cello and composed music in five movements: Translucent, Secret, On Fire, Awakening, Eclipse, and Heartof Light. I composed the music for five movements of the \"Heartof Light\". This is the first recording. Orion\" is named after Aurion, a hunter in Greek mythology.
