Since the mid-1980s, Zimmermann has been at the forefront of the international music scene, performing a wide range of repertoire from baroque to contemporary. His repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary music, and he has received high acclaim for both his performances and recordings of J.S. Bach. The session recording was released on Sony Classical in 2006, and a DVD [EUROARTS] 20-64068) recorded live in 2008.The Violin Concerto was recorded in 1988 with the English Chamber Orchestra [formerly EMI, now Warner Classics], conducted by Jeffrey Tate, and the 2017 album with the Berlin Baroque Soloists [hanssler Classic] (CD: KKC-5922 \/ HC- 17046, LP: KKC-1211).
