She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Scotland and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, and was awarded the Gramophone Prize in 2013. He is also a multiple Brit Award and Echo Award winner, and was Artistic Director of the 2019 Cheltenham Festival. He is principal trumpet of the Chamber Orchestra of London and a visiting professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.\n\nThe piccolo trumpet is a modern invention, and Bach and his contemporaries could not have anticipated its power, its glowing bright tone, or the advent of 20th century engineering technology. The instrument is a far cry from the delicate, multifaceted sound of the natural trumpet of the Baroque era. However, the opportunity to play more chromatic and technical music, such as that originally written for solo violin or oboe, has fascinated since the time of the great Maurice André, who showed the world how intensely sweet the high register of the piccolo trumpet could be.\n\n\n\nAlison Balsam is a master of the natural trumpet as well as the modern trumpet, and is well versed in old music technique and has collaborated with many old instrumentalists.In this new recording, Alison Balsam and her longtime friend Trevor Pinnock perform with an old instrument ensemble under the direction of Alison Balsam and her longtime friend Trevor Pinnock. Simon Wright, who has arranged for numerous brass ensembles and other instruments for this recording, has arranged for piccolo trumpet (rotary valve type) and old instrument ensemble, and has written concertos for oboe and violin by Telemann, Handel, Vivaldi, Albinoni, Marcello, and others. I have performed concertos for oboe and violin by Telemann, Handel, Vivaldi, Albinoni, Marcello, and others.\n\nAlison Balsom says, \"I have worked extensively with old instrument ensembles throughout my career, so I was intrigued and fascinated by the possibilities of the two worlds colliding successfully on this album.\"\n\n\n\n(Warner Music)\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Warner Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50238287282465,"sku":"5021732273291","price":16.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/5021732273291.jpg?v=1728963082","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-be\/products\/5021732273291","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
