In 1953, he succeeded Arnold Bax as \"Master of the Queen's Music\".\n\nThis album focuses on two important works in the brass band (brass band) repertoire: \"Kenilworth,\" a challenge for the 1936 British Brass Band Championships, and the \"Belmont Variations\" from 1962.
