Description:

This collection features original works for flute (Bartók arranged from piano works) by composers active in the late 19th and 20th centuries. All of the works are highly individualistic and strongly influenced by their respective climates: Kekran from France, Shulhov from the Czech Republic, Babadzhanian from Armenia, Amirov from Azerbaijan, and Bartók from Hungary. Bartók's "Fifteen Hungarian Peasant Songs" for piano was arranged for flute and piano by one of his pupils, Hungarian-born Paul Alma, who omitted the sixth piece, "Ballade," and added some repetitions and variations. Originally arranged from folk songs that Bartók covered in various regions, this piece offers a rich folk melody, rubato, and characteristic harmony. Flute Flett has released several albums on FUGA LIBERA. The lively expression in accordance with the characteristics of the work is very attractive. Naxos Japan
