Description:

Viciga 70 (=Setenta) is a Brazilian Afrobeat band that gathers Afro-based music from all over the world and reconstructs it with a 21st century flair to present a fusion sound. So far, we have released "III" (Rice INR-9037/2015), "The Copan Connection" (Sanvinha Imports INSI-3511/2016), and "Quebra Cabeza" (Sanvinha Imports INSI-5495/2018) in Japan, and they have been well received by fans from all over the world. The "Cebra Cabeza" (Sambinha Imports INSI-5495/2018) were released in Japan and have been highly supported by fans from various fields. Their debut album "Viciga 70", which has never been released in Japan, will be reissued by their current label, Glitterbeat in Germany, and will be distributed in Japan as Sambinha Import. Viciga 70 is an instrumental band formed in 2010 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a total of 10 members (currently 9), including drums, bass, guitar, keys, two percussionists, and a brass section consisting of four members. It was named after the studio located at 70 May 30th Street in the Viziga district, known as the Italian quarter of the city. Its sound is characterized by a mishmash of various African music, including Afrobeat, Afro-roots Brazilian music such as samba and candomblé, and Afro-pan-Latin music such as cumbia, Afro-Cuban, and Afro-jazz, as well as strong influences from Fela Kuti and Mulatu Astatuke, and a variety of other musicians. The band's sound is a gumbo of cumbia, Afro-Cuban, Afro-jazz, and other Afro-pan-Latin music, and is inspired by a wide range of Brazilian musicians, including Gilberto Gil, Luiz Gonzaga, Moacir Santos, and Hermeto Pascoal, as well as strong influences from Mulatu Astatuque. The works that Sambinha Imports has introduced in the past have evolved and developed their gothic sound, but this debut album, released in 2011 on the Agua Forte label in their hometown of São Paulo, is their basic sound and is a reflection of the pure ideas that motivated them to start the band in the first place. The band's debut album, released in 2011 on the Agua Forte label in their hometown of São Paulo, is a straightforward expression of the pure ideas that motivated them to start the band.Of course there are some rough edges, but the powerful sound that perfectly embodies the gushing passion and initial impulse is the charm that resides only in this album. This reissue has been newly remastered for the analog format and packaged in the collectible gatefold sleeve. The warmth of the analog sound can be enjoyed with high sound quality and a gorgeous jacket. A Japanese language description is included in the package.
