Their work has been covered by international artists such as Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin, and The Carpenters. And their songs have a charm that makes people happy, even if it's coming from a downtown bar.\n\nBurt Bacharach passed away in 2023 at the age of 94 and Harjivid in 2012 at the age of 91.\n\nI was asked by Jim Nadel, Executive Director of the Stanford Jazz Workshop in 2023 to play in a tribute band to honor Burt Bacharach and Hal David. So I chose as members Yuzuko Hashimoto, a wonderful Hammond organist from Osaka, her husband and guitarist Yutaka Hashimoto, and tenor saxophonist Hideki Kawamura.The four of us toured the United States and Japan. We also added Jackie Ryan, a dynamic singer who represents the world of Hal David, to our lineup and took us into a whole new world with a concert at Stanford University in July of 2023. The traditional jazz organ style and dynamic vocals were met with a huge ovation from the audience.\n\nI immediately knew I had to record a performance by this group, and after two years of planning, I finally completed \"Loving Burt Bacharach\".
