The beloved British "national glam rock band" Slade's smash hit UK No.1 album "Old New Borrod and Blue", which dominated the charts in the UK in the 1970s, is now available on red and blue splatter color vinyl! Formed in Wolverhampton in 1966, Slade has been active in the British music scene for almost 30 years until they went on hiatus in 1992. In the 1970s, Slade not only had three No. 1 albums in the U.K., but from 1971 to 1976, they had 17 consecutive singles in the U.K. Top 20, and their momentum continued to grow. The band's momentum continued unabated, with 17 consecutive UK Top 20 singles from 1971 to 1976, and they boasted overwhelming popularity as the "soundtrack of the glam generation. Their fourth album, "Old New Borrod and Blue" was released on February 15, 1974.The album, which was certified as a gold disc, has a typical Slade sound of "loud, pop, glitzy rock," but also includes piano-driven songs such as "My Friend Stan" and "Everyday," which give the album a broader musical feel. The album also features the aforementioned "My Friend Stan" and "Everyday," which give the listener a sense of musicality that has expanded. The aforementioned "My Friend Stan" became a No. 2 hit in the U.K., and "Everyday" reached No. 3. 1973's "Merry Xmas Everybody" is still played as a standard Christmas song in the U.K. every December. Noel Gallagher even declared "No Slade = No Oasis", which is a great legacy of the band in the British music scene. (Incidentally, Oasis also covered "Cum On Feel The Noize".) Their masterpiece is now being reissued in analog format.
