Acclaimed for his unique combination of \"feline agility and lightness of touch\" (The New York Times), Liu is a pianist capable of breaking new ground even in well-known works.Born in Paris to Chinese parents and raised in Montreal, his life has always been one of cultural diversity, which has influenced his attitude, personality and character. Drawing inspiration for his art from European sophistication, the long traditions of China, and the dynamism and openness of North America, the 27-year-old Liu has made a splash on the world's highest stages with his extraordinary virtuosity and grace.\n\n\n\nFollowing the great success of his previous work, \"Waves,\" dedicated to the French composer and the theme of nature, \"The Seasons\" focuses on Tchaikovsky and Liu, and their relationship to their respective music. For me, this is a moment to explore personal feelings,\" Liu said of the album. He says it encapsulates the Russian composer's personal and very private language in a space where the music breathes.\n\n\n\nThe Four Seasons is a collection of twelve small pieces, the best-known of Tchaikovsky's solo piano works. Commissioned by the music magazine Neuveriste, it was published in 1876, one piece per month. Each piece is preceded by a few lines of related poetry.This music is filled with all kinds of emotions. From very melancholy melodies to exciting journeys, it is almost like a diary.\" These 12 songs depict the Russian landscape and its folkloric culture. I feel there are similarities between this country and Canada, where I live. Both are vast, both are very cold, and I sometimes feel alone in this vast space. There are melancholy moments in the music, but at the same time Tchaikovsky describes celebratory gatherings, especially Christmas. It's kind of a story of all people throughout the year, and I think it's very accessible because it's something we all do.\"(Bruce Liu)\n\n\n\n(UNIVERSAL MUSIC\/IMS)\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Dgg (Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft)","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50383356723489,"sku":"28948660490","price":36.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/28948660490.jpg?v=1727682327","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-be\/products\/28948660490","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
