The New London Consort—one of the UK’s most innovative early music ensembles—gained widespread attention with their recording at Decca’s Oise-l’Isle studio under the direction of Philip Picket. One year after the success of Volume 1, recorded in 1986, three additional albums were released, and in 1996, they were released as a box set; however, they had been out of print for some time afterward.
