The album demonstrates imagination and energy, communication across genres and styles, and the ultimate innate ability to use both baroque and contemporary instruments. Anastasia Kobekina was born in 1994 in Yekaterinburg to a musical family (her father is composer Vladimir Kobekin), began playing the cello at age 4, studied at the Moscow Conservatory and Paris Conservatory, and studied with France Helmerson, Jens-Peter Mainz and Jerome Pernault.2019 In June of 2009, he won the third prize at the 16th International Tchaikovsky Competition. She is currently studying baroque cello with Christine von der Goltz at the Frankfurt Conservatory. She is known not only for her charisma, esprit de corps, and good-natured communication skills, but also for her fearless musicianship and flawless technique. She is a natural-born artist who is a consummate master of both baroque and modern instruments, switching regularly between them and displaying her instinctive talent across a wide range of repertoire, from the early baroque through the great Romanticism to contemporary music. In this album, \"Venice,\" he has created a unique album that evokes Venice without using any conventional clichés. This is not a wig-wagging, powder-puffing, masquerade ball that begins in the 17th century. It is an album that explores our relationship to place, the conversation between history and the present, and a completely personal and contemporary interpretation of what Venice represents for the artist. This is developed in a wide range of music, from the Renaissance by Monteverdi and Dowland to the contemporary by Caroline Shaw and ambient music pioneer Brian Eno. A kaleidoscope of history, memory, and fantasy, real and imagined, is created, a portrait of Venice that exists only in the clear material and in the artist's mind.
