The origin of the British progressive rock band, Marillion, is here: "Script For A Jester's Tear", a masterpiece of 80's neo-progressive rock and their debut album, is now available in a new mix on analog LP! Now available on vinyl! Marillion is a British progressive rock band that continues to attract many progressive rock fans in the UK and Europe, even 40 years after their formation. Their debut album "Script For A Jester's Tear" was released in March 1983, and is considered one of the masterpieces of neo-progressive/pump rock, born out of the progressive rock trend that has continued since the 1960s. It is considered to be one of the best neo-progressive/pump rock albums. Script For A Jester's Tear" not only reached #7 on the UK Album Chart, but was also certified platinum, and spawned two UK Top 40 singles, "He Knows You Know" and "Garden Party. Produced by Nick Tauber, who has worked with Thin Lizzy, Toyah, and others, the album features a lineup that includes Fish (vocals), Steve Rothery (guitar), Pete Trewavas (bass), Mark Kelly (keyboards), and original drummer Mick Pointer. It was also the only album to feature the lineup of original drummer Mick Poynter.This is a new stereo remix of the original album, which was included in the deluxe edition of "Script For A Jester's Tear/Solo Theatrical Clown" released last April, as an independent analog LP. The remixes were done by Andy Bradfield and Avril Mackintosh. Vocalist Fish's theatrical vocals and performance on her debut album were complemented by a lyrical and melodic sound. This is the origin of Marillion, a band that continues to captivate fans live and on their albums.
