After a leisurely second movement, the theme of the third movement is a pops-like melody that makes you want to sing along. The \"Lullaby\" and \"Monologue,\" also by Kernis, have a lyrical and romantic atmosphere. Sierra's \"Little Concerto\" is an impressive work with a lively rhythm. Piazzolla's Double Concerto, which accompanies these commissioned works, was written for the International Guitar Festival held in Belgium in 1985.The opening movement, \"Introduction,\" is a melancholy dialogue between guitar and bandoneon without orchestra, while the second and third movements are Piazzolla-like tango compositions.
