Now, at last, “The Titan” makes its appearance. Of course, having come this far, there’s no doubt he has a firm intention to complete the entire set. However, he first retraced his steps through the purely instrumental symphonies of his middle period—Nos. 7, 6, and 5—then covered the monumental early symphony No. 3 before reaching No. 4, and now the “Titan” follows. What exactly is the intention or strategy behind this approach? Will he, perhaps after tackling the “Resurrection,” finally take on the peaks of the late symphonies—crowned with eternal snow—at the pinnacle of his career? That aside, regarding this recording of the “Titan,” the liner notes—as always—feature Feltz’s own meticulous analysis and personal insights on the performance (with a Japanese translation). Although it is a live recording, it is not carried away by the atmosphere or momentum of the venue; rather, it is performed with great care, as if it were chamber music, with Ferz’s artistic vision extending to every detail. In particular, the elegance of the Ländler in the middle section of the second movement and the second theme of the final movement, and sensuality of the Ländler in the middle section of the second movement and the second theme of the final movement are simply exquisite; and as a contrast, the overwhelming climax of the final movement is deeply satisfying.\nTobu Land System\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Dreyer Gaido","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595596587297,"sku":"4260014870822","price":44.0,"currency_code":"AUD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4260014870822.jpg?v=1790481853","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-au\/products\/4260014870822","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
