Description:
Pierluigi Villone (1960-), born in Italy in 1960 and currently based in Vienna, studied composition with Salvatore Sciarrino and Helmut Lachenmann. After studying at the University of Music in Graz and the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt, he has held a professorship at the Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya in Barcelona since 2017. Villone's style is to depict soundscapes that are both silent and mysterious. Even in his two works, String Trio and Saxophone & Percussion, that space of silence and mystery pervades the entire work. Tokyo M-Plus
