Adams, J.

The only complete collection of ideal romantic organ music is finally available in a box set! Josef Gabriel Reinberger (1839-1901) was born in Faduz, Germany (now part of Liechtenstein), where he became a church organist at the age of seven and had already begun composing. He studied under Lachner in Munich and became conductor of the Munich Oratorio Society in 1864. Later he became professor of organ and composition at the Munich Conservatory, where he influenced many subsequent composers and performers. This is the only complete set of his solo organ works to date, featuring some of the most German romantic organ works of the period, performed by Rudolf Innig, who is also a scholar of organ music of that era. The most ideal romantic organ is used for this performance. Universal Music/IMS
