A remarkable work by Noriko Hisada from the leading contemporary music label \"Hat Art\"! The album features \"Guided by a Yellow Brick\" by Noriko Hisada, a composer active in Japan and Switzerland. This is a chamber music piece based on the story of the famous children's book \"The Wizard of Oz\" published in 1900. The entire work consists of seven movements, and although it seems to depict a series of scenes, it does not necessarily describe one specific story, but rather, the composer's own childhood memories and images were also used as material. The composer's own childhood memories and images were also used as material for this piece. Please enjoy the fantastical world in which free inspiration is delicately woven and blended together. The composition consists of flute, clarinet, piano (\u0026amp; celesta), percussion, violin, cello, and voice. The piano plays the leading role in the opening movement. The other instruments come out later to take over the melody of the piano. The delicate changes in tone are fascinating. The third movement is very powerful music, with the piano playing a series of obsessive, intense bass notes, the strings pinching the air, and the winds running through the air with high notes. The fifth movement is truly magical, with a dreamy solo by the flute.Overall, this is very sophisticated contemporary music with more than enough of a beautiful sense of tone! ＜Noriko Hisada was born in Tokyo. Graduated from Tokyo College of Music, Department of Composition, and completed the same course. Studied under Shigeaki Saegusa and Joji Yuasa. She has been involved with the Zurich New Music Ensemble since 1991, when her work was selected for the ISCM World Music Days in Zurich. The ensemble's commissioned chamber opera \"Das Hollenbild\" based on Ryunosuke Akutagawa's \"Jigoken\" was performed in Zurich, and the two ensembles have a strong relationship of mutual trust.
