LP / Limited to 250 copies Lloyd Miller, born in 1938 in the U.S., is a multi-instrumentalist who specializes in the traditional and classical music of the Middle East, especially Persian and Afghan music, and plays over 100 different ethnic instruments. Originally, Lloyd Miller was a venerable jazz musician who had worked with Don Ellis (tp,conductor) and Eddie Harris (tenorsax) while attending the University of Paris and the French National Institute of Oriental Languages and Cultures in the early 1960s. In this album, recorded in 1966, he begins with "Sakura" in Japan, continues with China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand, and then moves on to India, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, and Iraq, all in one album.
