Suzuki, John Cage's \"RENGA\" (first performed in 1976), as its title suggests, was created on the theme of Japanese \"renga. Using sketches of a forest landscape as its subject, the piece expresses nature sounds by adopting the renga style of 5-7-5 (haiku) and 7-7 (sakikyu), and is one of the works that show the depth of Cage's connection with Japan.
