Brandenburg No. 5 is here, no way! Bonizzoni's Bach, the second volume to ride the wave! The masterful Bonizzoni's second collection of Bach concertos is now available! We thought he was going to put away the concerto for one piano following the previous one, but we were pleasantly surprised that he came with this selection of music. First of all, I did not expect to hear the Brandenburg No. 5 in this series. The long cadenza and the interplay between the flute and violin are beautiful and a joy to listen to. The contrast with the Triple Concerto in a minor key, which is full of dark and heavy emotions, is also interesting. The program also includes BWV 1057, an arrangement of the Brandenburg No. 4, making for a sumptuous program. The full double concerto is overwhelming, but since BWV 1054, an arrangement from the Violin Concerto No. 2, is also included, Bonizzoni's solo is more than enough to enjoy. Backed by one soloist per part, the performance is full of vitality, starting with the fugue movement. Bonizzoni's exquisite pauses and tempo breaks are also noteworthy! Bonizzoni is an Italian organist and harpsichordist who studied with Copeman at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.He has performed with the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Le Conseil des Nations, Europa Galante, and other renowned orchestras of the ancient music world, and has formed his own ensemble, La Risonanza.
