The Italian version of the opera \"Fanisca\", a comic opera in three acts composed in Vienna by Luigi Kelvini (1760-1842), an Italian composer active in Paris, France. Kelbini completed \"Fanisca\" with a German libretto by Joseph Sonleitner, based on the melodrama \"The Mines of Poland\" written in 1803 by French playwright René Charles Guilbert de Picsecourt. For its success, Haydn presented him with a copy of the written score of his \"Symphony No. 103,\" and Beethoven reportedly gave it his enthusiastic support. Luigi Prividari's Italian version of \"Fanisca\" was performed at the 24th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw, October 10-22, 2020, marking its Polish premiere. It was Polish musical genius Ukas Borowicz who overcame numerous restrictions and difficulties, such as keeping the size of the orchestra as compact as possible to maintain social distance in the midst of the new Corona disaster, to bring the performance to a successful conclusion.The Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Poznan Chamber Choir, and the talented Polish singers were superbly put together.
