Hidden quality UK dream pop / shoegaze band, remastered for the first time on LP & CD from their 1986 demo tape, which has been soaring in the used market! The Cranes, from Portsmouth, England, have been active since 1985. Led by vocalist Alison Shaw, the band's dreamy and aesthetic style has been a strong link between long-time core fans and new shoegaze lovers. Their first work "FUSE" has been reissued on LP and CD for the first time! Originally funded and produced by the band, it was released on cassette tape in 1986. The album has a strong post-punk/gothic rock feel, before they went into dream pop/shoegaze. The title track's inorganic beat and Alison's haunting vocals go head-to-head in an arrangement that is incredibly fresh to hear now! The disturbing and thorny sound of the song provoked a response that led to the production of a self-titled cassette tape that raised the band's profile. While the original cassette tapes have skyrocketed in price on the used market, this album, mastered at Abbey Road Studios, is coming back to the world after more than 35 years!
