Their debut album invites you to an unknown world of music with their outstanding sense and technique. ＜The Shakuhachi 5 is a super school shakuhachi group formed by Akito Kohama, Aizan Kawamura, Suzutaka Kuroda, Akinao Kominato, and Kenichi Tajima, who have been seeking not only classical music but also contemporary expression. The group recorded and released a video of the telework piece \"Longing fromafar\" by composer Dai Fujikura. This was their substantive debut. In the same year, they were featured on the cover of Hogaku Journal magazine, with an interview at the beginning of the magazine.He has been actively commissioning and premiering shakuhachi pieces, and is pioneering the future of shakuhachi music. ＜Akito Kohama studied under Toshimitsu Ishikawa and completed the NHK Traditional Music Technicians Training Program.
