Gustavo Jimeno \u0026amp; Camerata RCO's small orchestra version of Mahler No. 9! Gustavo Jimeno, a percussionist and conductor who knows the RCO well, conducts the Camerata RCO, a chamber ensemble composed of members of the RCO, in this chamber ensemble version of Mahler's Symphony No. 9. The arrangement is by Klaus Zimon, a German-born pianist and conductor who also recorded Mahler's Symphony No. 5 (RBM003\/BM003) on the Bastille Musique label with his own arrangement and conducting. The 16-member ensemble consists of strings, woodwinds, and brass with one player per part, plus piano and accordion. The small size of the orchestra allows each voice part to be clear and fresh sound different from that of a large orchestra, and also highlights the high level of individual skills of the members, who have a wealth of experience in Mahler's music, This is a must for Mahler fans as well as for those who do not enjoy Mahler's large ensemble sound. In commemoration of Gutman Records' new distribution, we are also releasing a domestic edition of the album with a Japanese translation of the commentary and a newly written commentary by Atsushi Suzuki.
