With this in mind, he acquired a \"pedal piano\" with foot keys (pedals) in 1845 and studied Bach's organ music. His enthusiasm for fugue led him to create the works included in this album. Schumann himself arranged Op.56 for piano trio, and other composers have also made various arrangements of this highly artistic work. Here, Winpenny used the historic \"Furtwängler Organ (built in 1860)\" in Gronau, Germany. This organ is the second largest organ in existence from the German Romantic period, and it produces a wide range of sounds to match Schumann's expressive works.
