The work by Israel's Yehuda Klattag [1985-] is based on a fable by the medieval Jewish philosopher Maimonides. It features four double basses utilizing techniques like harmonics, creating a fascinating soundscape. The work by Mexico's Juan Trigos [1965-] is a cantata-oratorio paying homage to his homeland's culture and cosmology, centered on the Aztecs.
