His album of Brahms, Franck and Debussy was selected for the Diapason d'Or 2017, and ALPHA will release a collection of cello works by Shostakovich, Rachmaninoff and Denisov (ALPHA547) in 2019 to critical acclaim. This album features Dvorak, the king of cello concertos, and Martineau, another great Czech composer and a masterpiece that incorporates new-age idioms such as jazz into the ethnicity of his music. The concerto will be conducted by Gergay Madarasz, born in 1984 in Budapest, who has been music director of the Liège Philharmonic Orchestra since September 2019.
