The first CD by this young and talented group of ancient musicians is by an unknown Belgian composer of the Rococo period! Barocco Tou was formed in 2013 at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Absorbing performance techniques and interpretations at the cutting edge of contemporary ancient music, they have been working energetically with their young sensibilities and won the first prize at the York International Old Music Competition in 2017. The works chosen for the first of their albums are trio sonatas by de Cruz, an unknown Belgian composer born in 1705 in Antwerpen (Antwerp). Written in the Rococo style, these works are all very accessible and beautiful, and their fresh performances enhance their appeal.
