Description:
Violinist Natalia Romeyko and violist Yuri Zislin have duoed together on several albums. For this album, they are joined by pianist Ivan Martin for three Romantic works. Brahms arranged the well-known horn trio for violin, viola, and piano, and the result is a very gentle and relaxing performance without losing any of the original's original flavor. The original of Bruch's "Eight Pieces," the main work on the album, is a combination of clarinet, viola, and piano, and here, too, the combination of mellow sounds different from those of the wind instruments remains in the ear. Schubert's "Notturno" was originally composed for violin, cello, and piano. The deep sound of the cello is replaced by the austere sound of the viola, which changes the impression of the piece considerably. This is an interesting disc in which you can enjoy the well-crafted sounds of the various performers as they jostle for supremacy. Naxos Japan
