The album sublimates contemplations of loss, grief, ancestry, belonging and separation, and identity into a new sound. The first single \"Completely Half,\" which was pre-cut with the album announcement, is based on field recordings made in the Hong Kong subway system.With a wonderful assemblage of his cross-cultural roots (Boris was born to a Chinese mother and a Belgian father), he creates a unique sound world that is at once nimble and restrained, melancholic and exotic, with a strange tugging at the heart of it.
