Federspiel Federspiel is a seven-member wind ensemble formed in 2004 in the historic town of Krems an Danube at the confluence of the Danube and Krems rivers. The ensemble performs folk music from all over Europe in unique arrangements using electronics, and has gained popularity at summer music festivals and concert halls. The youngest member of the group was 16 years old when it was formed, but over the past 15 years their music has matured like the city's famous wine. This album entitled "Smaragd Emerald" is their fourth release, and every song on it is an original by all three members. The songs are interesting in that they incorporate their personal experiences, such as confessions of love and breakups, into Austrian folk songs. Naxos Japan
