The CD, titled "The Bridge," features Baroque music by Johann Christoph Petz (1664-1716) and François Couperin, romantic music by Schumann, the tragic composer Pavel Haas (1899-1944), who was executed at Auschwitz, as well as works by Toshio Hosokawa (1955-) and Gilles Silvestrini (1961-), and Gabriel Ercoleca (1969-), born in Bilbao, Spain, and the works of composers from various periods and regions are included. The duduk in Erkoreka's work is a double reed instrument used in the vicinity of Armenia. Yuri Farentin is the winner of the 2017 German Music Competition; in 2015 he won second prize at the 11th International Oboe Competition Tokyo in Japan; as of 2018 he is the principal of the Hannover-Niedersachsen State Orchestra (orchestra of the Hannover State Opera House).
