Description:

An atmospheric album by Margrethe Kehr, a talented old music harpist of strange, wondrous, and transformative musical play. The title "Wonderful Machine," based on Purcell's "Ode for St. Cecilia's Day," is a hymn to music and the instrument, and to the transformability of the harp. Handel's concertos are the centerpiece of the program; Op.4-6, also a concerto originally written for harp, is a perfect match for the sparkling tone. The viola organista (also called lyrichord) is a keyboard instrument capable of producing string sounds, and was sketched by Leonardo da Vinci. It is a very strange instrument, which is worth a listen, and which Sławomir Zubrzycki, who plays it, was also involved in its production. Flapping It's Wings" by Christoph Deanz (1968-) was also inspired by a sketch of the "Ornithopter," a flying machine invented by da Vinci. It is composed of a triple harp, viola organista, and five stringed instruments. King International
