Eilat Ishmuratov (b.1973) is a young Russian-Canadian composer from the Republic of Tatarstan. He is also active as a clarinetist, conductor, and educator in Montreal's Kleztory klezmer band. This collection of orchestral works by Ishmuratov is an evolution of his rich musical heritage, influenced by Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Mussorgsky, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, and others. Following the first volume (CHAN 20141), recorded by the Belarusian National Chamber Orchestra conducted by Evgeny Bouchkov, the second volume features the leading young Canadian conductor Jean-Philippe Tremblay and the Orchestre Francophonique, which Tremblay founded in 2001, performing the symphony premiered in 2017, \" On the Ruins of an Ancient Fort (On the Ruins of an Ancient Fort)\" and two concert overtures. Youth,\" a festive overture composed in 2016 to mark the 15th anniversary of the Orchestre Francophonique's founding.All three pieces are world premiere recordings, full of dramatic orchestral sounds, bold colors, and descriptive portrayals of Ishmuratov's charm.
