A collection of powerful baritone baroque arias that are truly \"worth listening to\"! A famous singer who left his mark on history comes back to life in the modern age! The first solo album on the CHALLENGE CLASSICS label by Sergio Foresti, one of the leading baroque baritones of our time. The album features a series of arias written for Giuseppe Maria Boschi, a famous baritone who was very popular in London during the era of Handel and Bononcini and who is documented to have appeared in over 83 operas between 1703 and 1729. The album contains a full array of arias written for Giuseppe Maria Boschi, who had a great deal of success with the legendary castrato Farinelli and other popular singers of the time, and many unknown works can also be heard. The baritone's intense and dramatic power is irresistible. The Apkordis Ensemble, an up-and-coming group that has recorded with Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, provides excellent support for Foresti's powerful and rich singing. The obbligato use of lute and guitar, as well as the harpsichord that punctuates the harmony, are also effective. The tempo setting, which is not too fast and makes full use of the energy of the songs, is also very pleasing, and the songs are a heavyweight pleasure that is \"worth listening to.
