Telefsen by Howard Shelley! The Romantic Piano Concerto Series (RPCS) is Hyperion's popular series of discoveries and revivals of unknown piano concertos of the Romantic era. Volume 86 features the piano concerto by Norwegian-born pianist and composer Thomas Tellefsen (1823-1874), who moved to Paris in his late teens. The Grand March,\" which is also included in this album, was written by Friedrich Kalkbrenner (1785-1849), who studied with him several times. He also studied regularly with Chopin from 1844 to 1847, with whom he had a friendship. His relationship with Chopin greatly influenced Televsen's compositional style.
