Now, they release their self-titled 10th album, their first release since signing with Sub Pop, recorded with Brad Wood (Sunny Day Real Estate, Liz Fair).

SUNNO)))—comprising Stephen O’Malley and Greg Anderson—have spent nearly 30 years pushing the boundaries of heavy music, building a unique style that straddles the worlds of avant-garde and rock. Now, SUNNO))) returns with their first new release since the critically acclaimed 2019 album *Pyroclasts*. Their 10th album, marking their Sub Pop debut, vividly demonstrates their exceptional talent for manipulating time and space, light and darkness, as well as their ambition to evolve their signature sound into bold and innovative forms. Titled *SUNNO)))),* the album was recorded at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, Washington, with Brad Wood (HuM, Tar, Sunny Day Real Estate, Liz Phair). “The spacious tracking room had a large window overlooking the trees. "Going on hikes, spending time in the woods, being outdoors—that came to play a big part," says O'Malle, noting that this location became a crucial part of the recording process. For many years, SUNNO))) has welcomed collaborators into their unique world. Past works have featured Attila Csihar (Mayhem), composer Hildur Gudnadottir, multi-instrumentalist Steve Moore, polymath Mark Deutrom, Silkworm’s Tim Midyett, and legendary singer-songwriter Scott Walker. However, on this album, O’Malley and Anderson have discovered new possibilities in the primal realm of the duo format, playing all the instruments themselves. “It’s been really fresh and exciting to play just the two of us without other collaborators over the past few years,” says Anderson. SUNNO)))’s music is vast and panoramic, yet meticulously detailed, reflecting the wooded environment where it was recorded. Amidst swirling feedback and sounds like cracking glaciers, moments of astonishing delicacy emerge. Field recordings of water sounds resonate from beneath the floor, while piano interludes evoke a sense of stillness and solemnity. As they weave music that seems to breathe in the crisp, earthy air of the Pacific Northwest, the duo elevates their telepathic intensity to new heights. The album’s visuals are graced by two paintings by the late American artist Mark Rothko. The liner notes are written by Robert Macfarlane, an award-winning British author known for works exploring landscapes and the relationship between humans and nature. Through the band, Macfarlane, and Rothko’s work, sound, words, and visuals fuse to create an immersive experience that is unmistakably SUNNO))).

Tracklisting:

1.XXANN
2.Does Anyone Hear Like Venom?
3.Butch's Guns
4.Mindrolling
5.Everett Moses
6.Glory Black
