The fourth recording of the complete works for piano solo by Bartók's master, Andreas Bach! The fourth recording of the complete works for piano solo by Bartók's master, Andreas Bach. Composed between 1908 and 1909, "For Children" consists of 79 pieces in 4 volumes for educational purposes, Volumes 1 & 2 are mainly based on Hungarian folk songs, and Volumes 3 & 4 are mainly based on Slovak folk songs. The first edition of this collection was published in 1985. The first edition of this collection contained 85 songs, but in 1945, Bartók himself revised the edition and removed 6 songs. (On this disc, the 14th and 15th rhapsodies from Volume 4 are included on the same track (track 76), making the total 78 tracks.) This collection also offers the opportunity to enjoy Bartók's works in the folkloric style of indigenous music.Andreas Bach released one album of Bartók's solo piano works in 2004, and this series will feature all of Bartók's solo piano works in six separate albums: Vol. 1 "Bartók at Full Maturity" (98042), Vol. 2 "Romantic Bartók" (98043), Vol. Romantic Bartók" (98043), "Bartók and Folk Music" (HC16020), "For Children", "Microcosmos", and "Young Bartók".
