Two years later, in 1974, he conducted the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood in a concert celebrating the 100th anniversary of Koussevitzky's birth. This may have been the reason for the concert. Lenny was on fire in the finale of No. 2 and the passacaglia of No. 4, as if possessed by a fire.
