His father, Giuseppe Barison, a painter, worked as a violinist throughout Europe in the first half of the 20th century. His activities were hampered during World War II because of his anti-fascism.After the war, he became general director of the Teatro Verdi in Trieste. His works show the heights of his violin technique as a virtuoso, while incorporating Hungarian-style atmospheres and mazurka rhythms with elegance and finesse. The works heard on this album are sometimes meditative, sometimes softly sung. This is a good and soothing project disc.\n\nFarasca studied in Italy and received a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
