Since his fascination with the contra bassoon at the age of six, Agsteribe has studied at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent and the Zurich University of the Arts, and since 2019 has been the principal contra bassoonist of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the South of the Netherlands, as well as the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra and Zurich Opera House. He has also made guest appearances with the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra and the Zurich Opera, performing a wide range of music from ancient to contemporary works.\n\nThis album features a wide variety of 20th and 21st century works, from John Williams' fantastic \"Five Sacred Trees\" to Rota's lyrical concerto and Schulhoff's \"Bass Nightingale\" with its humor and technique.
