Babi Yar\" is about the murder of many Jews by the German army in the suburbs of Kiev in 1941. The Soviet poet Yevtushenko composed a symphony in 1962 based on the lyrics of a poem written in protest against this incident. However, \"Babi Yar\" is only the first movement; the remaining four movements are based on Yevtushenko's alarming poem.
