Orozco-Estrada began his conducting studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 1997, and in 2004, he made a name for himself at the Musikverein when he conducted the Wiener Tonkünstlerorchester on short notice. Since then, he has been the principal conductor of the orchestra from 2009 to 2015, the principal conductor of the hr Symphony Orchestra since 2014, and currently the music director of the Houston Symphony Orchestra in 2015.In addition, he has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra for the 2015\/16 season, a position that has attracted the attention of the world's musical community.
