Smoking Josephine, a string ensemble of five women! Enter Smoking Josephine, a five-woman string unit led by Geneviève Loransaud. Loransaud was concert mistress and solo violinist of the Orchestre Capitole de Toulouse from 2007 to 2017 and is currently a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. Olivier Hugues is the solo violinist of the Orchestre de chambre de Paris. Marie Schirnumm, viola, is a chamber musician and since 2017 a member of the Ebène String Quartet. Hermine Horio is a cellist and a member of Les Dissonances, an ensemble led by Grimal. Contrabassist Lorraine Durantel Elstroffe was a member of the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse from 2004-06, and since then has been an active player in chamber music and various music festivals. The program includes piano works, and the second half of Chopin's Ballade No. 1 has a completely different intensity and interest than when heard at the piano. King International
