Italian keyboardist and conductor Francesco Cella, known for his many recordings with the Ensemble Arte Musica, has released a two-volume set of Bernardo Strache's "Selva di varie compositioni d' intavolatura" (Forest of Various Songs) from Serie Bianca (White Series). Although not much is known about the life of Bernardo Struce, who was active in the late 17th century, all of his surviving works are included in the "Forest of Various Songs for Harpsichord and Organ," which is a study of Italian keyboard music. All of his surviving works are included in the "Forest of Various Pieces for Harpsichord and Organ," and are considered to be important works linking Frescobaldi and Pasquini in the study of Italian keyboard music.
