Canadian virtuoso tackles Prokofiev! The first volume will be works from the Russian period, and the Canadian virtuoso will tackle all of Prokofiev's piano sonatas. A total of three collections are planned. The first collection includes four piano sonatas composed by Prokofiev in his Russian period before he moved to the United States via Japan in 1918. It also combines four smaller pieces. David Jalbert is a Canadian pianist born in 1977. He studied at the Juilliard School, the Glenn Gould School of Music, the University of Montreal, and the Conservatoire du Québec. With a wide repertoire and a warm, elegant style that captivates audiences, he is one of CBC's "15 Top Canadian Pianists. He is currently an Associate Professor of Piano at the University of Ottawa.
